HAIL LACONIA!!! HAIL THARROS!!!

As I look back on all my experiences in larping this weekend will stand out as one of the most fun and relaxing events ever.

The atmosphere of celebration for the hobby/sport and good will we enjoyed from everyone at Dagorhir is something I will never forget.

In the same way as we level up our characters in Darkon, so I think I gained a level in partying at Gates of Fire this weekend.

We had 12 Laconians in attendance; it was a great success and our first regional event as a unit in Dagorhir. We camped with Punchy from NoQuarter! and saw our friends from Dragonhood, as well as met and hung out a little bit with The 300 Spartans(who if nothing else certainly wear their capes at a jaunty angle, and are better at beer pong than us), The Lost Souls, and everyone at Dag.

There are many things to look back on; Axe Handle Beerball (we have the axe handle! woot Jutt), the great march up the hill(which was not exaggerated it was a big f'ing hill), fighting with over 400 players on the field was amazing, lightning from Zeus to close the big fights, pick up fights in the campground, Moose's Honey Wagon, feast, Blind(drunk) Fighting Competition, The Oracle Hunt, 1st ever Laconian Wrestling....the list could go on! Oh yeah and they loved our great axe!

If you didn't make it you missed a fun filled event with much fighting, festivity, and friends.

In celebration Octavian earned his claw and achieved PERIOECE status! It won't be long 'til he is wearing the symbol of Tharros for his many acts of service. (and his acrobatics) many thanks to Dienekes for catching the fish and preparing another wondrous feast. The Oracle gave more prophesy, and we shall heed Demeter’s warning and plant a seed before each battle in the war.

Who went to the Darkon campout I'd like a report?

In service to the people of Laconia,
Bannor

IC: I think next time you see Brother Occultus of The Empyrean, you should ask him what he witnessed this weekend.

OOC: You guys missed rain. And more rain. Though the fighting was awesome in the rain... But you mostly missed rain. And the chance to win a really gay banner pole.

Darkon was a blast, minus the mud. I got a chance to NPC most of the weekend, and also got some flail training for when I eventually start playing a monk. It was especially fun since all of my weapons (sword, dagger, bar and flail) did black damage and my constantly respawning NPC had chainmail. Black flail = LOTS OF DEATH.

I also got a chance to hang out with a couple other countries during the weekend, Most notably Teradox and Moot. Moot is always a blast, and play some fun campfire games (which I note, we will HAVE TO TRY at next campout), while Teradoxians turn out to be (gasp) pretty nice guys (They make delicious "Fascism Chip Cookies"). In addition, I joined in with the pit fights (Ignius + pit fights = EPIC FAIL).

The campout itself was kind of plain, and a good portion of Saturday consisted of a huge group of people following Inox's NPC around and around Reunion looking for the last piece of the aforementioned gay banner pole. None of the elders knew where it was, and there was a bit of EB panicking.

Aquilonia won the campout by 135 points. Also fun to mention, my NPC, whose motivation was to cause great chaos, successfully tricked several countries into attacking each other over a powerful armor-ignoring sword that didn't exist.

All in all, it was a weekend to remember. I missed you all terribly.
